Once again a thunderstorm hit the start of a Penn Colts match. There were large puddles of water all over the pitch. Making for a very heavy pitch. Good shot by Jordan from the kick off into the middle of the field, Dominic gets the ball and runs along the wing, crosses but Bradley cannot get to the ball. Good play from Jeevan in midfield attempts a forward pass but just too hard for Dominic to control. Jeevan makes a good tackle. Throw-in taken by Jordan to Dominic who flicks it over the head of the defender and makes a great cross into the penalty box. The ball is lost by the goalkeeper and nearly rolls over the line but is grabbed again. Jeevan defends well and wins a throw in. Jordans throw lands in the Withymoor penalty box. Bradleys header goes just wide of the post. Dominic makes a great tackle in his own half. Withymoor win the ball back but Jeevan comes out and clears the ball. Fantastic play by Penn, ball breaks to them by the half way line, Jeevan comes forward and shoots. His shot is blocked by Bradley. Bradley picks up the loose ball and passes to Dominic, Dominic tries to cross the ball which goes wide. Break again from Penn throw in from Jordan flicked onto Dominic, Dominic runs down the wing and crosses but Bradley cannot get to the cross. Good covering from Dominic and Jeevan. Withymoor win the ball and take it forward into the Penn box. Good defensive play again by Jordan on the edge of the penalty box. Good chance again from Penn, throw-in from Jordan to Dominic, who runs down the wing and crosses, but the ball is too close to the goal keeper. Fantastic throw from Jordan near the half way line Bradley takes the ball and runs into space crosses the ball into the box. Dominic controls the ball turns and shoots and scores (0-1) on nine minutes. Good move from Withymoor from the kick off, player runs past Jeevan but Jeevan runs back and makes a tackle and kicks it out. Withymor corner well caught by Amrun Luke and George on for Dominic and Jeevan Good chance created again by Penn, Luke passes to Bradley, Bradley shoots but it is just saved by the goalkeeper. Withymoor win a free kick, excellent shot by the Withymoor player, ball is heading in but is cleared by a fantastic header by Bradley out for a corner. Withymoor begin to apply the pressure. Fantastic tackle on the edge of the penalty box by Luke, Jordan makes the final block and takes the ball and passes to George, George takes the ball and makes a fantastic run up the field and wins a corner. Once again fantastic corner from Bradley, the ball hits the goalkeeper and dribbles out for another corner. Bradley takes the corner again, the ball zips across the front of goal. Good tackling again on the edge of the box by Luke, Bradley breaks and is tackled and Luke picks the ball and passes to George, George runs past one player but the ball gets caught up in his feet. Luke retrieves the ball and kicks into the penalty box. Withymoor kick the ball out for a thro w in. Fantastic play from Penn, Bradley wins the ball and runs up the wing holds the ball turns one player and goes past another, passes to George in the penalty box. George controls the ball and passes back to Bradley. Bradleys shot goes in (0-2) on fifteen minutes. Shot from Withymoor well cleared from Amrun. Good holding play from George in the middle of the park. Half Time: Withymoor Colts 0 Penn Colts 2 From the kick off Jeevan makes a good tackle and clearance. There is a lot of play in midfield with both teams cancelling each other out. Good defending between Jeevan, Jordan and Bradley. Jordan takes an excellent throw-in the middle of the Withymoor half ball, falls to Dominic who wacks the ball into the back of the net (0-3) on five minutes. Withymoor make a quick break behind the Penn defence shoot and score (1-3) Jeevan wins the ball from a Withymoor throw-in and runs forward, passes to Dominic on the wing, Dominic crosses to Bradley who wins a throw deep in the Withymoor half. Good throw-in from Jordan, flicked on from Bradley but it is just caught by the goalkeeper. Withymoor win a corner but the shot is caught by Amrun. Good chance from Penn from the goal kick, the ball goes past the midfield players onto Dominic and he passes to Bradley. Bradley runs down the wing chips the ball across but it goes wide. Good tackle again from Jeevan from Withymoor throw-in. Good surge forward from Dominic deep in his own half passes to George who turns and looses the defender and passes to Bradley. Bradley just cant get forward with the ball. Luke and George on for Jeevan and Bradley Another good chance from Penn, Jordans throw bounces over the defenders neatly taken by Dominic whose shot goes over the bar. Poor kick out from Withymoor goalkeeper. The ball bounces for Dominic, Dominic takes a snap shot just saved by the goalkeeper. Withymoor create a chance out of nothing, striker shots and hits the top of the Penn bar. Desperate defending by Penn, good clearance from George Penn win the ball back, Jordan breaks forward with the ball. Runs deep into the Withymoor half shoots and scores, (1-4) on fifteen minutes. Dominic comes back for the ball makes a great run forward past three players but there is nobody in the box. Fantastic cross from Dominic well defended by Withymoor, Dominic brilliantly gets to the ball with an overhead kick. Luke gets the ball but is tackled on the edge of the penalty box. Withymoor create another chance, there is a lot of play in the middle of the park, eventually the ball falls for them and break forward, Amrun comes out and kicks the ball out. Good hard defending by George passes to Jordan who comes forward passes to Dominic who just could not control the ball. Good covering from George out for a throw. Good tackling from George comes forward and passes to Dominic, Dominic slips over the ball. Counterattack from Withymoor gets past Jordan but George comes back and makes the tackle. Withymoor win a corner good defending from Luke, but the ball gets past him and Withymoor shoot but the ball is caught by Amrun. Jeevan on for injured Luke Good break from Penn, Dominic takes the ball forward, the ball go outs for a corner. Corner from Jeevan to Jordan. Jordan shoots wide. Final whistle This was another great performance from Penn under difficult circumstances. A storm just before the game had resulted in a soggy water logged pitch.
