Match Report
Today was our last Merit shield group game and we were up against Trysull Tigers. The game started off slowly and never seemed to improve. Trysull were playing with 2 lads marking Niall and Penn didnt play as a team and pass enough to break their defence down. Penn were still creating all the chances with George, Niall and Jack all going close but we were finding it difficult to score. The half time score was 0-0.
The 2nd half started and Penn got the break through they deserved with Jacks shot hitting both posts and Niall making sure it went it. Alex didnt have much to do with Lloyd and George keeping Trysull well and truly out. George was dominating midfield and causing numerous problems for Trysull with his fantastic running off the ball. Penn were awarded throw after throw and with Nialls enormous strength, they were as good if not better as a corner. This was causing Trysull numerous problems with George winning it in the air every time. Trysull were awarded a free kick outside Penns box, the ball was struck superbly by Sam which was looking like a dead cert goal but was superbly saved by Alex. Quickly after Trysull were again awarded a free kick which was cleared off the line by George. The final whistle went with Penn winning 1-0 and another deserved win.
Penn need to still learn its a team game.
